$50 Billion Mugging

There are approximately 300 million citizens of the U.S., men, women, and children, and on behalf of the continent of Africa I would like to thank each and every one of you. Your Congress has approved taking $166 and change from each one of you to send to Africa to help fight AIDS. Africa, which according to www.mbendi.co.za has 40% of the world’s gold and 60% of the world’s cobalt. Combine these with huge resources in uranium, diamonds, copper, lead, zinc, oil, natural gas, tantalum, manganese, chromium, nickel, and bauxite, and Africa has 30% of the world’s mineral deposits. Additionally African countries export huge amounts of coffee, tobacco, tea, cotton…. You get the picture. There is no shortage for the money they need for what ails them.
Africa is a continent of 53 countries consisting mostly of one party dictatorships, who engage in embezzlement, mass corruption, media repression, religious intolerance, military coups, and genocide. One of the longest functioning democracies, Kenya, just stepped back into tribal butchery following the Dec. 2007 elections. And the U.S. Congress is taking $50 billion from U.S. citizens, not to rebuild U.S. infrastructure such as: bridges, levies around New Orleans, road repair, improved air traffic control equipment, or port security. This money is not being used to improve American energy independence, nor to better equip our military, nor to help with tuition assistance for the ever increasing costs of college education.
50 billion U.S. tax dollars are going to Africa to fight and prevent AIDS. There is no known cure for AIDS. And there is not a Mayo Clinic, or Johns-Hopkins Hospital, or St. Jude’s Research Center in Africa. They don’t need American money to tell them how to prevent contracting AIDS. I’ll tell them right now, at the cut rate of $1 million: KEEP YOUR PANTS ON!!! You don’t have to have sex with everything that moves in your line of sight. Also, don’t put drugs into your body, especially with needles.
The U.S. Congress taking hard earned dollars, $166, from every U.S. citizen, man, woman, and child, to send anywhere overseas is absurd, but to countries with so much wealth at their disposal should be criminal and the entire lot of those who voted in favor of this legalized highway robbery should be put in jail. If we take $1 billion and revamp Alcatraz and put congress inside, we would save $49 billion and we would be doing immeasurable good for our country.
Seriously, call the White House (202)456-1414 and demand that Bush veto this absurd bill. Then contact your congressional representative and find out where they stand on this issue, giving your opinion.

Thomas Jefferson Quotes

"My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!" -Thomas Jefferson
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -Thomas Jefferson
"No man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -Thomas Jefferson
"Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God." -Thomas Jefferson's personnal moto.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." -Thomas Jefferson

"The Constitution of most of the states (and of the United States) asserts that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." -Thomas Jefferson
"On every question of construction (of the Constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p.322
On Government mandates: " If we were directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we would soon want for bread." -Thomas Jefferson

2008 Olympics

We are approaching the 2008 olympics. A series of sporting events which began in the cradle of western democratic nations, Greece. This year's games are being held in one of the most repressive and brutal dictatorships on the face of the earth. The People's Republic of China is a military tyranny which uses the facade of commercial communism to deceive the west, particularly the U.S. into thinking that it's overall goal has changed. Their goal is the same. Global domination. This is no where more evident than in the peaceful nation of Tibet. The People's Liberation Army violently invaded Tibet in 1950 with 40,000 troops and has occupied the country ever since. There have been different estimates as to how many Tibetans have been murdered by the Chinese in more than 50 years of occupation, but 1 million or more is the consensous. This is in addition to the millions of chinese who have been murdered by this regime, which our government and business leaders continue to develop lucrative relations. The time is now past to voice opposition to the Olympics being held in China, but if enough voices are heard, the Chinese leaders will not get the free pass and favorable publicity they crave. Contact your elected officials, local newspapers, and broadcast stations with the message of "Free Tibet" , and remind our politicians that it could be very embarassing to be photographed with the people who are murdering innocent, defenceless people. Too bad Tibet does not have an active 2nd amendment and an active NRA to help them defend themselves.

Only the Irish

I saw these words on a St. Patrick’s Day card: “Your kilt should be short enough to dance a jig, but long enough to hide your lucky charms!”

S 2433

So, Sen. Obama proposes to send 30 billion U.S. tax dollars overseas to third world cesspools under his Global Poverty Act. This attack on the U.S. taxpayer was appropriately submitted on Dec.7 of 2007 as senate bill S.2433. It was released from committee on Feb. 13, 2008. The proposed redistribution of finances was preceded in Sept. 2007 by Rep. Smith (D) Washington, and HR1302. I had not heard of either until told of them by a friend. I called my senators' offices where this information was verified. Sen. Obama is not even the official democratic nominee for president and he is trying to give the country away. I don't know about you, but $30 billion would go a long way to addressing problems right here in the United States. Contact your senators' offices: (202)224-3121 is the U.S. House and Senate switchboard, ask for your senator and encourage the senator to oppose S2433. Repeat the call and ask for your other senator and encourage the second senator to also oppose S2433. Involvement is the only way we can hope to stop this madness.

Slave Revolts

I recently read a book found at a used book store. It is a child’s book, approximately 7th or 8th grade level, about slave revolts in the “new world” and is titled Rebels Against Slavery. It is politically correct, but even at a child’s level it presents information that most people do not know. From this info I have delved into a more intensive study of the historical incidents presented. Slavery is evil. This evil dates back into ancient history in every society on earth. No exceptions. It was accepted practice worldwide until it was banned in the western hemisphere in the 19th century. Slavery continued in Africa, Asia, and the middle east into the 20th century and exists in remote areas even today. The recent movie, Amistad, is based on a true incident of slave revolt. Perhaps I am not looking to the right or wrong of slavery as much as how slaves were able to rebel against their oppressors. My question of ‘how’ I suppose is for near future reference because the direction governments are going, many of us will have need of the knowledge of how to stage a slave revolt. Remember, the Jews in Germany in 1930 refused to believe that Hitler, a politician, would actually do what he said he would in his book, Mein Kampf. Imagine a politician keeping his word! Then came the “security” laws which disarmed first the Jews then all the German people. Then came enslavement and the holocaust. It can’t happen here in America, just ask the Indians. Or ask the descendents of slavery in America.

Quotes on the Second Amendment

"The thoughtful reader may wonder, why wasn't Jefferson's proposal of ‘No freeman shall ever be debarred the use of arms’ adopted by the Virginia legislature? They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." (Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759.)

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764)

"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms.... The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants." (Thomas Jefferson in a letter to William S. Smith in 1787. Taken from Jefferson, On Democracy 20, S. Padover ed., 1939)

Arms in the hands of individual citizens may be used at individual discretion in private self-defense." (John Adams, A Defence of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America [1787-1788])

Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?" (Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836)
