Religion of Peace

Practitioners of the religion of peace have once again demonstrated the extent of their faith. When it was announced that Pope Benedict would make a Papal Visit to Turkey, the faithful demonstrated in the streets. Immediately the best selling book in Turkey became, "Who Will Kill The Pope in Istanbul?" And we are reminded that the faithful have been waging this 'jihad' since the time of Muhammad. In the infancy of the United States, President Thomas Jefferson had to send the Marines into Libya to rescue Americans and a captured ship from Muslim pirates. More recently, a Muslim Palestinian, Sirhan Sirhan, assassinated Bobby Kennedy in 1968. Muslim terrorists hijacked four airliners to Jordan and exploded them on the tarmac. Muslim terrorists invaded the 1972 Olympics, murdering many athletes celebrating the international love of sports. And so it continues. According to the 'religion of peace', peace will only inhabit the earth when the whole earth is Muslim. In the words of the prophet, "Let there be no religion, but Islam." Translation, convert or die. The same option given to Spanish cities upon the the Muslim invasion of Spain. There is nothing new under the sun, but is there a will to survive left in the western world?

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action." George Washington
That pretty well sums it up. If we are unhappy with the actions of our government, we have only ourselves to blame. A constitutional republic requires active citizen participation at every level to function properly or else we are at the mercy of those who would use our form of government to empower themselves over us. The coin of liberty has two sides; on the obverse is liberty and on the reverse is responsibility. Liberty without responsibility is anarchy, responsibility without liberty is tyranny.
