Interesting Guideline

The following was posted on a volunteer militia site and I thought some of you might be interested reading it. There is more to follow, but I did not want to put too much in one posting. Enjoy.

This guide was developed after much discussion and field experimentation. Many, MANY, hours were spent arguing over what to consider "necessary", and to what degree of skill militia persons should aspire. This guide is for the completely uninitiated, though others will also find it useful. It is by no means all-inclusive. There will be many items left out that you may personally feel are absolutely necessary, and there may be skills left out that you may believe to be absolutely essential as well.
This guide is for beginners. We'll explain what we're doing here. Take your average American, and thrust him into a position where he must defend his way of life against terrorism, tyranny, crime, invasion, or any other threat or emergency. To what degree should he train? What kind of gear should he have? Add to these the facts that he is working a steady job, has a great deal of family commitments, and would still like to see a hockey game or a movie now and then. You will find that he has very little time to train, very little money to spend on gear, and very little energy left to pursue the causes of freedom.
That's a fairly decent picture of your average militia person today. Only the most determined dedication can overcome these obstacles.
So we have developed this guide, in the hopes that it will help smooth over the rough road to readiness. Perhaps with this minimal direction that we have set forth, a few more motivated patriots will now seek to develop the skills necessary to defend our great Republic.

Recommended Movies

Recommended movies for entertainment and education.

1. Casablanca The classic story of love and loss. Starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, you can’t go wrong.
2. For Whom the Bell Tolls The movie adaptation of Hemingway’s classic. Surprisingly accurate to the book starring Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman.
3. The Matrix Not a big Keanu Reeves fan, but a compelling story that is ominously prophetic.
4. In the Line of Duty: Manhunt in the Dakotas Starring Michael Gross and Rod Steiger a fact based movie about WWII vet and tax rebel Gordon Kahl and the FBI agents pursuing him.
5. The Lord of the Rings Triology Nothing needs to be said, purely excellent.
6. The Thirteenth Warrior Antonio Banderas at his best.
7. To Have and Have Not Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall in the Hemingway classic which, is one of the rare exceptions, in that it is totally different from the story, but it is better than the original story. I would like to see an accurate rendering of the original, however.
8. Go Tell the Spartans Burt Lancaster in a compelling movie of the early days of U.S. involvement in Viet Nam.
9. Enemy of the State Will Smith and Gene Hackman portray two men in an unlikely alliance at odds with a government out of control.
10. The Siege Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington terrorist attacks in NYC lead to martial law. Hmmm…
11. The Patriot Mel Gibson and the revolutionary war. Need I say more?
12. Red Dawn Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen star as reluctant guerrillas against Soviet occupation. A must see.
13. Braveheart Mel Gibson and the struggle of the Scottish to wrest freedom from the British.
14. Michael Collins Liam Neeson portrays Irish Republican Army leader Michael Collins in the fight for Irish independence.
