More De-Industrialization

Autobeat Daily quotes New Delhi’s Economic Times that Indian SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra is in talks with Chrysler LLC about acquiring the Jeep unit. Why does that just sound wrong? Jeep is the American icon of 4x4’s. It is the original, to sell it off is akin to selling your child into slavery. Beyond that, why are we not exporting jeeps instead of exporting the jobs to manufacture the jeeps? Chrysler, like Ford and GM and many other “American” manufacturers, already do a huge amount of their engineering and manufacturing overseas. American auto parts supplier TRW has their engine component divisional headquarters in Germany. How then is this an “American” company? Why do we as a nation permit this constant exporting of our jobs? This is national suicide. What no one on earth has been able to do, beat the USA , we are doing to ourselves. I hate to sound like a democrat, but corporate greed, or a republican, combined with a punitive tax system is killing our country.

Bad Government Joke

What is the difference between organized crime and government?
One word, “organized”.

Kosovo???

Remind me again, why is the U.S supporting Kosovo independence? Is it the huge amount of Middle East oil money that has been pouring into Kosovo? Is it the large numbers of mosques and Islamic schools recently built to radicalize the unemployed youth? Is it the rampant unemployment plaguing this troubled province of Serbia? Why? These are the decedents of people who donned Nazi uniforms and slaughtered Jews, Christians, Serbs and any one else they could. These are the brothers of the terrorists who murdered 186 children in the Beslan school siege in Russia. These people have strong spiritual and political ties to Black September of the Munich Olympics massacre and to the terrorists who travel to Iraq to murder American military personnel. This has to be yet another example of the American government not having a clue about international relations or historic precedence. This is the type of situation George Washington warned us against becoming involved in. God help us, because it is going to get worse.

Al’s Nobel Peace Prize

So, Al Gore won a Nobel peace prize. You know, it’s sad when a former U.S. Vice President and senator has to resort to science fiction to stay in the lime light he is so obviously addicted to. At least Carter earned his peace prize. Although they should have awarded it to him for the negotiated peace between Egypt and Israel instead of for the 20 years of the Carter Center endorsing tyranny around the world. If Al really wanted to earn a peace prize, maybe he should have gone to Darfur, George Clooney did. An actor goes to a war zone to try to bring peace into action and a former “statesman” goes to Hollywood for a piece of the action. Why doesn’t Al go to Darfur and tell the people that are left how much better their lives will be when Americans stop driving SUV’s? I’m sure that would mean the world to them.

Really That Bad?

A friend recently asked if I really thought it was going to get as bad as I have written. My response was, worse. He looked at me in disbelief with that “you’re a conspiracy nut” look. That look faded as I stood there reminding him of the way things were going in the government and in the election process. History and current events are adding up to a difficult time ahead for the U.S. When the people become lazy and “…vote for their own largesse…” combines with a powerful and corrupt central government, only misery can follow. “We the people…” began voting for politicians who would make government give us something with the election of FDR and it has been downhill from there. People forget that government doesn’t produce anything. Anything government can give you has been taken by force or coercion from other people like you. These statements offend some people, but take off the rose colored glasses and look hard at history. Dig beyond what is taught in government schools and you may find something you did not want to find. It’s like family history and you find out that great grandpa was not a rancher, but a rustler. You are discouraged from looking further. Now look at past experiments of self government. Freedom overpowered responsibility and decadence led to a moral, social, and political collapse. Look around you today. Combine the mass exodus of manufacturing from the U.S., the increase of food imports, the reintroduction of eradicated diseases by illegal aliens, the negative savings rate, and a continuing drought, and you have a cauldron of problems. We are embroiled in foreign wars with no end in sight, and ‘our’ government uses ‘terrorism’ as an excuse to strip of us our freedoms and our identities. Add to this a political leader whose sole goal in life is absolute power, and you have a police state. A comment was made that when we elect Ms. Clinton, the world will laugh at us. In 1933 Germany elected a man who looked like Charlie Chaplin and the world laughed. This is incredibly serious. We are about to face what could be a combination of the worst of the Great Depression, WWII, the 1917-1919 flu pandemic, the dust bowl, and the Civil War all rolled into one. The election is in November. Prepare now. Liberty First!!!

Straighten Up And Fly Right

A buzzard took a monkey for a ride in the air
The monkey thought that everything was on the square
The buzzard tried to throw the monkey off of his back
The monkey grabbed his neck and said "Now listen, Jack!"

"Straighten up and fly right"
"Straighten up and fly right"
"Straighten up and fly right"
"Cool down, papa, don't you blow your top."

"Ain't no use in divin' "
"What's the use of jivin'?"
"Straighten up and fly right"
"Cool down, papa, don't you blow your top."

The buzzard told the monkey "You are chokin' me"
"Release your hold and I will set you free"
The monkey looked the buzzard right dead in the eye and said:
"Your story's so touching but it sounds just like a lie"

"Straighten up and fly right
Straighten up and stay right
Straighten up and fly right
Cool down, papa, don't you blow your top."

(Instrumental Interlude)

"Straighten up and fly right
Straighten up and stay right
Straighten up and fly right
Cool down, papa, don't you blow your top."

"Fly right!"
I heard this old Nat King Cole song the other day and it reminded me of the relationship between the U.S. government and the U.S. citizens. The part of the government is characteristically embodied in the buzzard and the citizens in the monkey. One can only hope that the citizens will have the same nerve and will to survive to grab the government in a strangle hold, like the monkey on the buzzard, to get control of the beast which would devour us.

Thinking...

Thinking about life, family, country, and the basic human desire to LIVE, at some point in time in the lives of some men and women they realize that for what you love and believe, you just have to go to Thermopylae or Valley Forge, the Alamo or Bastogne, or Hue, even though you fully understand what the result of this decision could be…. Some things in life are worth the risk. Liberty First!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the NY Giants on their Superbowl victory. And to the NE Patriots for an excellent season. The trivia question is, how many brothers have played in the NFL and been on different teams who have won the superbowl?

Patriotism

"Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president." President Theodore Roosevelt
