Manchurian Candidate Moment

With historical proof that the U.S. military used LSD on its own personnel during mind control experimentation, the advent of global positioning satellites, radio frequency identification, and the wave of secrecy shrouding government to protect it from 'terrorism', you will forgive me a Manchurian Candidate moment. Particularly when innocuous, non-violent people suddenly and inexplicably turn into mass murderers. One expects violence from those who chose a criminal path, not from honest workers and students. Is it the firearms? No, it has seldom been more difficult to buy a firearm, legally, in this country. And a firearm is an inanimate object, like a hammer, it is a tool, neither good nor bad.
Violent video games? No, the Virginia Tech murderer evidently never played anything. No, if you must blame someone other than the criminal,
A. Look at the people who have the resources to control or make someone snap, or
B. As Watergate's Deep Throat said, "Follow the money..." Who will profit from the consequences of these actions?

Who stood to benefit from this atrocity? Hmm... let's speculate: No one wants to see innocent kids die, and video games were not involved. It had nothing to do with illicit drugs or pharmaceuticals, so what was the only other factor with big money behind it? The anti-gun lobby. I see what you did there.
