$50 Billion Mugging

There are approximately 300 million citizens of the U.S., men, women, and children, and on behalf of the continent of Africa I would like to thank each and every one of you. Your Congress has approved taking $166 and change from each one of you to send to Africa to help fight AIDS. Africa, which according to www.mbendi.co.za has 40% of the world’s gold and 60% of the world’s cobalt. Combine these with huge resources in uranium, diamonds, copper, lead, zinc, oil, natural gas, tantalum, manganese, chromium, nickel, and bauxite, and Africa has 30% of the world’s mineral deposits. Additionally African countries export huge amounts of coffee, tobacco, tea, cotton…. You get the picture. There is no shortage for the money they need for what ails them.
Africa is a continent of 53 countries consisting mostly of one party dictatorships, who engage in embezzlement, mass corruption, media repression, religious intolerance, military coups, and genocide. One of the longest functioning democracies, Kenya, just stepped back into tribal butchery following the Dec. 2007 elections. And the U.S. Congress is taking $50 billion from U.S. citizens, not to rebuild U.S. infrastructure such as: bridges, levies around New Orleans, road repair, improved air traffic control equipment, or port security. This money is not being used to improve American energy independence, nor to better equip our military, nor to help with tuition assistance for the ever increasing costs of college education.
50 billion U.S. tax dollars are going to Africa to fight and prevent AIDS. There is no known cure for AIDS. And there is not a Mayo Clinic, or Johns-Hopkins Hospital, or St. Jude’s Research Center in Africa. They don’t need American money to tell them how to prevent contracting AIDS. I’ll tell them right now, at the cut rate of $1 million: KEEP YOUR PANTS ON!!! You don’t have to have sex with everything that moves in your line of sight. Also, don’t put drugs into your body, especially with needles.
The U.S. Congress taking hard earned dollars, $166, from every U.S. citizen, man, woman, and child, to send anywhere overseas is absurd, but to countries with so much wealth at their disposal should be criminal and the entire lot of those who voted in favor of this legalized highway robbery should be put in jail. If we take $1 billion and revamp Alcatraz and put congress inside, we would save $49 billion and we would be doing immeasurable good for our country.
Seriously, call the White House (202)456-1414 and demand that Bush veto this absurd bill. Then contact your congressional representative and find out where they stand on this issue, giving your opinion.
